Yanui Beach in Phuket: a cozy cove for snorkeling and a peaceful getaway
Ya Nui Beach is one of Phuket's smallest and most picturesque beaches. It is located at the very south of the island between the famous Windmill Viewpoint and Promthep Cape. Despite its modest size, Ya Nui has long been considered one of the most beautiful spots in southern Phuket thanks to its clear water, scenic boulders, tropical greenery, and excellent conditions for snorkeling.

Where is Ya Nui Beach located?
The beach is located in the south of the island between Nai Harn Beach and Promthep Cape. From Nai Harn to Ya Nui, you can drive in just a few minutes by car or motorbike.
The bay is hidden between green hills and granite rocks, creating a special atmosphere of seclusion. The road offers beautiful panoramic views of the sea and neighboring islands.
Opposite the beach is the small uninhabited island of Koh Man, which is clearly visible from the shore and is a popular spot for kayaking.
What Ya Nui Beach looks like
The beach stretches for about 250 meters. Despite its small size, it looks very picturesque due to the combination of light sand, large stones at the edges of the bay, and turquoise water.
The beach is conditionally divided into two parts by a rocky outcrop. During high tide, the shore becomes more compact, and during low tide, the water recedes significantly, exposing rocky areas and coral formations.
The sea here is usually clearer than on many popular beaches on the island, especially during the high season from November to April.
Ya Nui Beach in the summer season
From May to October, the rainy season begins on the western and southwestern coasts of Phuket. During this period, the sea becomes rougher, and waves and undercurrents appear.
Although Ya Nui is partially protected by its geographical features, swimming conditions can vary significantly depending on the weather. On stormy days, it is not recommended to enter the water.
For snorkeling and kayaking, the best time is the high season from November to April, when the sea remains as calm and clear as possible.
What to see near Ya Nui Beach
One of the main advantages of the beach is its location near the most famous attractions in southern Phuket.
Just a few minutes away is Promthep Cape — one of the most popular viewpoints on the island, where tourists come daily to watch the sunset.
Nearby is the Windmill Viewpoint, which offers magnificent views of Nai Harn, Ya Nui, and the Andaman Sea.
Also nearby is Nai Harn Beach, which is considered one of Phuket's best beaches for swimming during the high season.
Is Ya Nui Beach worth visiting?
Ya Nui Beach cannot be called the most famous beach in Phuket, but this is precisely what makes it special. There are no noisy entertainment, large hotels, or crowded tourist areas here.
People come here for the beautiful nature, calm atmosphere, clear water, and some of the best snorkeling on the island. If you want to see a quieter and more picturesque Phuket, Ya Nui is definitely worth a visit.
