Patong Beach
Patong Beach is the most popular beach in Phuket. It is located on the west coast of the island. Unfortunately, many consider it the dirtiest beach in Phuket. After the pandemic, it has been cleaned up, and municipal employees clean the area daily. Therefore, claims about its pollution cannot be called justified at the moment. The length of Patong is about 3 km of beach line. It is located north of Karon Beach. This area is famous for its beach entertainment and nightlife centers located on Bangla Road. For a beach holiday, it is better to choose the northern part of Patong, there the sand is whiter and the sea is more transparent. In addition, there are usually fewer vacationers there even at the height of the season.
Who is it suitable for:
This beach is suitable for active travelers and is absolutely not suitable for a quiet and calm holiday. Patong has many hotels, guesthouses and hostels for every taste and budget. The rest of the hotels are located across the road, on the second and third lines. On the fourth line and in the mountains there are guesthouses and condominiums.
Infrastructure:
This area has a well-developed infrastructure. On the beach you can rent sun loungers, jet skis, surfboards. Along the coast in the northern part there are makashnitsy, which offer various street food. Throughout the area you will find shops, cafes and restaurants, massage parlors, currency exchange offices and bank branches, several markets. The most popular of the markets is Malin Plaza, located in the southern part of the beach. Also on the fourth line is a large chain supermarket Makro. Between the second and third lines you will see two large shopping centers - JungCeylon and Central Patong. Throughout the area in the evening small bars open, the largest concentration of which is concentrated on Bangla Road. There are also several large clubs, tattoo parlors and bars with live music. It starts working at sunset, at 18.00 it becomes completely pedestrian.
Holidays in the summer season:
During the summer season, swimming on this beach is limited due to waves and rip currents. Lifeguards set up flags to demarcate the zones. Red flags indicate that entering the sea is prohibited. Red and yellow flags are placed in the swimming zones – lifeguards are on duty there.
