Phuket Town has several interesting markets, each offering unique goods, food and atmosphere. These places allow you to get to know the island's culture better, enjoy traditional street food and find interesting souvenirs or clothes. Naka Market (Phuket Weekend Market)
One of the most famous and largest markets in Phuket, which is also called the "Night Market", "Naka Market", "Weekend Market" or "Weekend Market". Although it is called a night market, it does not work at night, but in the evening hours. This place is considered a must-see if you want to feel the atmosphere of a real Asian market. The range of goods is incredibly diverse: here you can buy almost everything - clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, jewelry, souvenirs, paintings, electronics and even pets. However, it is important to remember that most of the goods in the market are inexpensive replicas of famous brands. For example, a handbag with the Chanel logo may be a copy, and a purse made of "crocodile skin" - made of ordinary artificial leather. Despite this, a visit to the market is worth it to enjoy the color, listen to live music and taste a variety of Thai dishes. In 2021, the market was reconstructed, after which part of the rows with clothes and souvenirs were allocated for parking.
Opening hours : full market hours: Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to 10pm; shortened version (food only): Monday through Friday from 4pm to 10pm.
How to get there : You can take a taxi, take a bus to Central Phuket shopping mall, and then walk. Or use a rented vehicle.
Phuket Indy Market
This is a small but very cozy and atmospheric market that operates three days a week: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is located in the parking lot of the LimeLight Avenue shopping center. At this market you will find unique handicrafts, souvenirs, fashionable clothes and, of course, many street food offers. The pleasant atmosphere and local musicians creating background music make this place very attractive for evening walks. Also next to the market is the Oyster Bar, where you can taste fresh oysters.

Chillva Market
One of the most modern and "fashionable" markets in Phuket, located in the Samkong area, near Phuket Town. Its name comes from the English word "chill" (hang out), which very accurately describes the atmosphere of this place. Locals and tourists love this market for its original design - some of the trade pavilions here are located in containers painted in bright colors. In the evening, lanterns are lit, creating a festive atmosphere. The assortment is represented by clothes, accessories and, of course, street food. Here you can try unusual dishes, such as a salad of live shrimp, fried insects or tea with cannabis. Live music in the evenings creates a special atmosphere.

Sunday Walking Street Market (Lard Yai Market and Chartered market)
Two of the most famous and vibrant markets in Phuket Town, which takes place every Sunday on Thalang Road. The street is closed to traffic and turns into a pedestrian area with many stalls. Here you can buy souvenirs, art, clothes, and also try local delicacies. This market is a real treasure trove for lovers of unique things. Local artists offer to draw your portrait, and street musicians and dancers create a lively atmosphere. Prices at this market are much lower than in tourist areas, and the variety of food and souvenirs will surprise even seasoned travelers.

Expo Market
a market less popular among tourists, but popular among locals. It is located on the outskirts of the old city and is a marketplace with inexpensive clothing, footwear, accessories and household goods. Here you can buy traditional Thai clothing, school uniforms, footwear and accessories at low prices. It is important to note that the quality of goods in this market often leaves much to be desired, but the prices are much lower than in tourist areas. Locals often come here for everyday clothing and household goods.
